About Hip Hounds

Hip Hounds opened in July 2006 with the goal of providing a safe, fun environment for dogs to spend their days (and nights)!

We have spent the last ten years catering to thousands of amazing dogs in Central Texas. We have an awesome facility nestled in a quiet neighborhood just minutes from I-35, Dell and the toll road. With a combined 15,000 square feet of indoor and outdoor play space, your pup will have the freedom to choose just how they would like to spend their day. Pups are supervised at all times by our dog-loving staff.

Hip Hounds is equipped with state of the art web cams. What does this mean? It means that when you get an itch to see what your pup is up to, just log on to our website and there they are in real time!

Our mission at Hip Hounds is simple: Keep the pups safe and happy. Ten years and thousands of dogs later, we are confident that we’ve stayed true to our mission.

Michael
Michael

Owner

Michael has been with Hip Hounds since it’s first day of business in July 2006 and took over ownership of the business in June 2016. Some of the staff once told Michael he looks like Voldemort, which is hurtful but also fairly accurate.
Daniel
Daniel

Manager

Daniel has been with Hip Hounds since 2010. He enjoys riding motorcycles.
Jessica
Jessica

Weekend Manager

Jessica plays it close to the vest so we never really know what she’s thinking. What I DO know is that she’s been attending some sort of martial arts classes and she’ll probably use her new skills to neck chop Daniel because he won’t be quiet. Stay tuned…..
Hannah
Hannah
Hannah has mild to moderate OCD and is constantly re-arranging the leash boards to quiet her inner demons. Obviously, we all call her Hannah Banana, Mrs. Banana or just plain “Banana” because what else are we gonna call her?
Marissa
Marissa
I’m gonna be honest. Marissa scares me more than a little. She’s so quiet and calm that it’s completely unsettling. Will she casually walk up and stab me one day? Only time will tell. (she also loves Green Day and her 3 dogs)
Rhi
Rhi
Rhi loves dogs so much that the first time she went into the group it made her cry. If an especially cute puppy comes in, Rhi will cry. Oh, did a dog just fall asleep in her lap? Tears.  Rhi inexplicably showed up for her shift a few weeks ago wearing a Star Wars onesie.
