Daycare

Dogs are highly social animals that need interaction and exercise. If your busy schedule doesn¹t allow for as much time with your best friend as you’d like, doggie play days may be the answer. If your dog is over 6 months of age and is spayed or neutered AND demonstrates a ‘pawsitive’ attitude towards people and dogs, you might want to consider a few days of socialization each week to stimulate your dog.

WHAT MAKES OUR PLAY DAYS DIFFERENT?

-Big indoor play areas for hot Texas days
-Outdoor play areas for lots of space and fresh air
-Doggie playground equipment and pools
-Nap time
-WebCams

Things you need to know before your dog’s first day of daycare:

1. Be sure your dog meets the following requirements:

-If you are bringing a puppy, your puppy must have had at least their second round of puppy shots.
-If your dog is over the age of 10 years and would like to spend the day with us, we will need a note from your vet that he or she feels our open play environment will be okay for your pooch. All dogs are required to be in general good health for daycare.
-If over 9 months of age, your dog must be spayed or neutered.

2. We’ll need a copy of your current vaccinations.

-All dogs must have current vaccination records on file with us. This includes Rabies within three years, DHLPP and Bordetella (to prevent Kennel Cough) annually. If your dog receives the nasal bordetella, as opposed to the injectable 1 year vaccine, it must be current every 6 months and administered within 48 hours of your stay.
-Please have your vet fax us these records at (512) 989-9769. If more convenient, you are welcome to drop them off or e-mail them.
-During the warmer months all dogs are required to be on flea prevention such as Program, Sentinel, Frontline, Advantage, or Revolution. If your dog comes in with fleas, you will be charged for a flea dip. Tick prevention is highly recommended.

3. Effective October 1, 2008:

Hip Hounds is no longer accepting new Pit Bulls, Staffordshire Terriers or Pit/Staffordshire Mixes due to the open group play we provide for daycare and boarding clients.
